March Stamp of the Month “Blog Hop” Potential

If you arrived here from {Lisa Sargent’s Blog} you are on the right track our stamp of the month is called Potential, that is a great name for this set.

There are many things you can do with this.  I chose to make a gift box using my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

This idea was inspired by my wonderful upline Karen Morris.

You are welcome to hop on over to {Haley Dyer’s Blog} or check out the detailed instructions below.  If you get lost along the way go to {Helen Onulak’s blog} for the master blog hop list.

I started by making the actual box, shown on page 22 of the guide.  A-2, cut at 10 ¾.  I also cut two circles, one out of Lagoon CS at 1 ¾ then Olive CS at 2”.  I used out great new Tapestry Velvet Rub-ons in Dark Chocolate z1700for image; these actually match the designs in Potential.  I did have to trim lagoon some as I was not able to center image exactly but love the lagoon color shining through dark brown velvet.

I then layered onto olive circle and brushed with cocoa ink.  To decorate the box sides I used lagoon ink and the scroll stamp from Potential, then brushed entire box with olive ink and a sponge.

Next I used Patterned B&T from Stella paper pack cut at 2” to decorate front and back.  I used the Cocoa Ribbon Collection z1316 to finish it out and tie the box.

I am showing this at my classes this month but of course I did not have enough velvet images to do all of them so I had some olive embossing powder and flipped it around a bit.

Hope you enjoy this and all the other wonderful  projects shown using this great set.

Hop on over to {Haley Dyer’s Blog} for yet another wonderful idea!
